L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Provence

November, 2015
After leaving the coast we headed inland to our little apartment in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Provence.  This is our home base for a bit to explore the surrounding countryside and vineyards.  Happily, when we arrived in the village it was market day so we stocked up on some local cheeses and produce for the week.

We picked up a local cheese that comes wrapped in chestnut leaves and tied with raffia called Banon, a goats milk cheese.

We were headed to the town of Uzes and passed by some ancient ruins and stopped for a stroll to admire.

The Duke's castle, called the Duchy of Uzes.

  Paused for an afternoon cafe'.

Stopped at this gorgeous family run chateau on the way back home for a local wine tasting.
